History of Marine City

Marine City is a charming Michigan town sitting at the confluence of the St. Clair and Belle rivers. Founded by the French and their "Ribbon farms," we are a border city just a short ride across the St. Clair river from Ontario, Canada. Our French heritage is still evident in the names of many people and places here.

Marine City's location in southern St. Clair County places us in close proximity to the metropolitan Detroit area, yet far enough away to retain our more rural, small town atmosphere.
